The College invites applications for the position of Admission Counselor.

We seek candidates who can effectively articulate and sell the essence and value of a traditional, residential, undergraduate liberal arts education and the distinctive features of Augustana. A team-oriented disposition, strong organizational skills, adaptability, a high energy level, excellent writing and public speaking skills, the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds, and a sense of humor are essential. A bachelors degree and drivers license are required.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: effective correspondence with prospective students and other constituents including interviews and group presentations, event planning, application review, and the management of a geographic territory.

These responsibilities include some travel and evening and weekend commitments. This position requires a high degree of initiative, creativity, and self-direction. Graduates of Augustana or similar-type liberal arts institutions will be given strong consideration.

The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of web trends and social networking, as well as competence in using current technology.
